Custody of the register.—The register maintained under these rules shall be kept at the office of the District Registering Authority in the custody of the Medical Officer, shall be bound and its pages numbered, and shall not be removed from that office except on the written order of the District Registering Authority; and where the Medical Officer having custody of it is succeeded by another, an entry recording the transfer of custody shall be made in Form 28 within forty-five days of the succession.
