Regulation 2, IRDAI (Registration of Insurers) Regulations, 2009 [SET-A9R]

Definitions.—In these regulations, unless the context otherwise requires,— (a) "Act" means the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority Act, 1999 (41 of 1999); (b) "insurer" means a person carrying on the carrying on of insurance business; (c) "premium" means a premium received, held or disposed of by a insurer in the course of the carrying on of insurance business; (d) "Form IRDA-4" means the form so numbered in the Schedule; (e) words and expressions used herein and not defined but defined in the Act shall have the meanings respectively assigned to them in the Act.
