Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the owner of an easement shall apply to the Sub-Registrar in Form 1 for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees, and the Sub-Registrar shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within one hundred and twenty days of the application.
