Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the payer of dividend shall apply to the Assessing Officer in Form 16 for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees, and the Assessing Officer shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within one hundred and twenty days of the application.
