Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the Marriage Officer shall apply to the Registrar General in Form III for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees, and the Registrar General shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within ninety days of the application.
