Custody of the register.—The register maintained under these rules shall be kept at the office of the Registrar General in the custody of the Child Welfare Officer, shall be bound and its pages numbered, and shall not be removed from that office except on the written order of the Registrar General; and where the Child Welfare Officer having custody of it is succeeded by another, an entry recording the transfer of custody shall be made in Form III within fourteen days of the succession.
