Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the lessee shall apply to the Sub-Registrar in Form 3 for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees, and the Sub-Registrar shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within ninety days of the application.
