Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the dealer shall apply to the Excise Commissioner in Form C for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees, and the Excise Commissioner shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within seven days of the application.
