Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the person presenting a document for registration shall apply to the Land Acquisition Officer in Form 6 for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees, and the Land Acquisition Officer shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within ninety days of the application.
