Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the deductor shall apply to the Assessing Officer in Form 3CD for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of two hundred and fifty rupees, and the Assessing Officer shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within seven days of the application.
