Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the registrar to an issue shall apply to the Central Government in Form E for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees, and the Central Government shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within seven days of the application.
