Custody of the register.—The register maintained under these rules shall be kept at the office of the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests in the custody of the Forest Guard, shall be bound and its pages numbered, and shall not be removed from that office except on the written order of the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests; and where the Forest Guard having custody of it is succeeded by another, an entry recording the transfer of custody shall be made in Form II within one hundred and twenty days of the succession.
