Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the person in possession of land shall apply to the Revenue Divisional Officer in Form 2 for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of ten rupees, and the Revenue Divisional Officer shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within one hundred and eighty days of the application.
