Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the owner of a vessel shall apply to the Inland Waterways Authority in Form 8 for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees, and the Inland Waterways Authority shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within thirty days of the application.
