Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the passport holder shall apply to the passport authority in Form F for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees, and the passport authority shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within one hundred and eighty days of the application.
