Custody of the register.—The register maintained under these rules shall be kept at the office of the passport authority in the custody of the Foreigners Registration Officer, shall be bound and its pages numbered, and shall not be removed from that office except on the written order of the passport authority; and where the Foreigners Registration Officer having custody of it is succeeded by another, an entry recording the transfer of custody shall be made in Form F within thirty days of the succession.
