Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the manager of a joint family property shall apply to the Registrar of Marriages in Form III for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees, and the Registrar of Marriages shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within seven days of the application.
