Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the trustee of a family settlement shall apply to the District Registrar in Form II for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees, and the District Registrar shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within forty-five days of the application.
