Surrender of certificate.—Every owner of land adjoining an embankment who ceases to carry on the use of land adjoining an embankment shall, within one hundred and eighty days of such cessation, surrender the certificate of registration to the Land Acquisition Officer in person or by registered post, and shall inform it in Form 1 of the manner in which every document held by him has been disposed of.
