Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the keeper of a place of public resort shall apply to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate in Form VII for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees, and the Sub-Divisional Magistrate shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within forty-five days of the application.
