Application for registration.—Every insurer carrying on the carrying on of insurance business shall make an application for registration to the Insurance Ombudsman in Form IRDA-1, within forty-five days of the commencement of these rules, accompanied by a fee of twenty-five thousand rupees and a statement of every register of policies held by him on the date of the application, and shall keep a copy of the application and of the statement for fifteen days from that date.
