Custody of the register.—The register maintained under these rules shall be kept at the office of the Panchayat Samiti in the custody of the Village Development Officer, shall be bound and its pages numbered, and shall not be removed from that office except on the written order of the Panchayat Samiti; and where the Village Development Officer having custody of it is succeeded by another, an entry recording the transfer of custody shall be made in Form 8 within thirty days of the succession.
