Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the contractor shall apply to the Registering Officer in Form VIII for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees, and the Registering Officer shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within twenty-one days of the application.
