Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the executor of a will shall apply to the District Registrar in Form IV for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees, and the District Registrar shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within one hundred and twenty days of the application.
