Custody of the register.—The register maintained under these rules shall be kept at the office of the Chief Commissioner of Railway Safety in the custody of the Station Master, shall be bound and its pages numbered, and shall not be removed from that office except on the written order of the Chief Commissioner of Railway Safety; and where the Station Master having custody of it is succeeded by another, an entry recording the transfer of custody shall be made in Form D within seven days of the succession.
