Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the authorised representative shall apply to the Assessing Officer in Form 15G for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees, and the Assessing Officer shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within ninety days of the application.
