Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the owner of a vessel shall apply to the Maritime Board in Form 8 for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees, and the Maritime Board shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within seven days of the application.
