Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the owner of a vehicle within a cantonment shall apply to the Commanding Officer of the Unit in Form E for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees, and the Commanding Officer of the Unit shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within forty-five days of the application.
