Custody of the register.—The register maintained under these rules shall be kept at the office of the Chief Electoral Officer in the custody of the Assistant Returning Officer, shall be bound and its pages numbered, and shall not be removed from that office except on the written order of the Chief Electoral Officer; and where the Assistant Returning Officer having custody of it is succeeded by another, an entry recording the transfer of custody shall be made in Form 12 within ten days of the succession.
