Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the owner shall apply to the Land Acquisition Officer in Form 2 for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees, and the Land Acquisition Officer shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within ninety days of the application.
