Application for registration.—Every public officer carrying on the receipt of instruments in evidence shall make an application for registration to the Collector in Form H, within forty-five days of the commencement of these rules, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees and a statement of every register of instruments held by him on the date of the application, and shall keep a copy of the application and of the statement for fifteen days from that date.
