Surrender of certificate.—Every registering officer who ceases to carry on the registration of instruments shall, within one hundred and eighty days of such cessation, surrender the certificate of registration to the District Registrar in person or by registered post, and shall inform it in Form A of the manner in which every instrument held by him has been disposed of.
