Surrender of certificate.—Every mortgagee who ceases to carry on the taking of mortgages shall, within thirty days of such cessation, surrender the certificate of registration to the Sub-Registrar in person or by registered post, and shall inform it in Form D of the manner in which every stamp held by him has been disposed of.
