Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the passport holder shall apply to the Foreigners Regional Registration Officer in Form X for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees, and the Foreigners Regional Registration Officer shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within seven days of the application.
