Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the citizen shall apply to the Immigration Officer in Form C for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of one thousand five hundred rupees, and the Immigration Officer shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within one hundred and eighty days of the application.
