Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the holder of land in excess of the ceiling shall apply to the Settlement Officer in Form 12 for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees, and the Settlement Officer shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within forty-five days of the application.
