Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the person holding foreign assets shall apply to the Joint Commissioner in Form 26AS for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of two hundred and fifty rupees, and the Joint Commissioner shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within seven days of the application.
