Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the creditor shall apply to the Central Government in Form DIR-12 for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of twenty-five thousand rupees, and the Central Government shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within seven days of the application.
