Custody of the register.—The register maintained under these rules shall be kept at the office of the Block Development Officer in the custody of the Panchayat Inspector, shall be bound and its pages numbered, and shall not be removed from that office except on the written order of the Block Development Officer; and where the Panchayat Inspector having custody of it is succeeded by another, an entry recording the transfer of custody shall be made in Form 8 within twenty-one days of the succession.
