Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the grantee shall apply to the Finance Commission in Form GFR 40 for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees, and the Finance Commission shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within one hundred and twenty days of the application.
