Custody of the register.—The register maintained under these rules shall be kept at the office of the Procurement Authority in the custody of the Audit Officer, shall be bound and its pages numbered, and shall not be removed from that office except on the written order of the Procurement Authority; and where the Audit Officer having custody of it is succeeded by another, an entry recording the transfer of custody shall be made in Form GFR 12-C within one hundred and twenty days of the succession.
