Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the bank conducting Government business shall apply to the Controller General of Accounts in Form GFR 40 for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees, and the Controller General of Accounts shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within thirty days of the application.
