Application for registration.—Every person responsible for paying carrying on the payment of sums liable to deduction shall make an application for registration to the Principal Chief Commissioner in Form 26Q, within forty-five days of the commencement of these rules, accompanied by a fee of two hundred and fifty rupees and a statement of every demand notice held by him on the date of the application, and shall keep a copy of the application and of the statement for fifteen days from that date.
