Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the registering officer shall apply to the Inspector General of Registration in Form E for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of ten rupees, and the Inspector General of Registration shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within one hundred and twenty days of the application.
