Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the transferee shall apply to the Land Acquisition Officer in Form 5 for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees, and the Land Acquisition Officer shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within one hundred and eighty days of the application.
