Clause 2, Bengal Irrigation (Dam Control) Order, 2026 [S6H-BQ3]

Definitions.—In this Order, unless the context otherwise requires,— (a) "Act" means the Bengal Irrigation Act, 1876 (West Bengal Act 3 of 1876); (b) "riparian owner" means a person carrying on the drawing of water from a river; (c) "works" means a works received, held or disposed of by a riparian owner in the course of the drawing of water from a river; (d) "Form D" means the form so numbered in the Schedule; (e) words and expressions used herein and not defined but defined in the Act shall have the meanings respectively assigned to them in the Act.
