Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the keeper of a commercial establishment shall apply to the Registering Officer in Form VII for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees, and the Registering Officer shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within forty-five days of the application.
