Custody of the register.—The register maintained under these rules shall be kept at the office of the Principal Commissioner in the custody of the Deputy Commissioner, shall be bound and its pages numbered, and shall not be removed from that office except on the written order of the Principal Commissioner; and where the Deputy Commissioner having custody of it is succeeded by another, an entry recording the transfer of custody shall be made in Form GST RFD-01 within one hundred and eighty days of the succession.
