Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the occupier shall apply to the Sub-Registrar in Form 6 for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees, and the Sub-Registrar shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within one hundred and eighty days of the application.
