Custody of the register.—The register maintained under these rules shall be kept at the office of the Divisional Forest Officer in the custody of the Assistant Conservator of Forests, shall be bound and its pages numbered, and shall not be removed from that office except on the written order of the Divisional Forest Officer; and where the Assistant Conservator of Forests having custody of it is succeeded by another, an entry recording the transfer of custody shall be made in Form III within forty-five days of the succession.
